Rick brings 30 years of district energy experience as well as established industry expertise in all facets of power plant and distribution maintenance, capital improvements, and staff training and supervision. He has held a variety of positions during his career within the industry in Youngstown, Akron, and Cleveland, OH; St. Louis, MO; Boston, MA; and Richmond, Martinsville, and Hohenwald, VA. Rick is a member of the International District Energy Association (IDEA) and served on the Board of Directors from 2003-2007. Rick is responsible for overall direction of HES and administers operations at all six GM facilities.
Joe recently joined our team bringing 35 years of utility plant experience at all levels of operations and maintenance. For the last 10 years of Joe’s career has been focused on providing third party services over a wide customer base that included industrial, institutional, and commercial facilities throughout the Midwest and Mexico. His experience in providing utility services includes both dedicated and district heating and cooling systems, industrial and sanitary waste water treatment, electrical generation, compressed air, and purified water, meeting the specific quality and quantity requirements of the customer.
Plant Manager--Hamtramck Assembly
Tim came to Hamtramck Energy Services in July 2008 as the Plant Manager in charge of powerhouse operations. He oversees steam production, boiler (repair, maintenance, and service), hot and chilled water, compressed air, and wastewater treatment. Prior to joining Hamtramck Energy Services, Tim spent 30 years with Great Lakes Steel as an electrician and electronics instructor, two years with Henry Ford Hospital as a maintenance electrician, and five years with Detroit Thermal where he served as maintenance supervisor. A master electrician and licensed high pressure boiler operator in the state of Michigan, Tim holds a B.A. from Siena Heights University in Applied Science.
Plant Manager--Flint South Complex
Max joined Hamtramck Energy Services in April 2009 as the Plant Manager in charge of powerhouse operations including steam production, boiler (repair, maintenance, and service), hot and chilled water, compressed air, and wastewater treatment. Prior to joining Hamtramck Energy Services, Max spent 45 years working for GM with a variety of responsibilities that included 12 years as assistant chief engineer and 14 years as assistant site utility manager in the powerhouse and wastewater treatment plant.
Utilities Service Coordinator
Nick joined Hamtramck Energy Services (HES) in October 2009 as Plant Manager for GM’s Flint North Plant powerhouse operations. His responsibilities included steam production, boiler (repair, maintenance, and service), hot and chilled water, compressed air, and wastewater treatment until their shutdown in 2010. When HES assumed control of the powerhouse operations in Shreveport, LA, Nick accepted and transferred to the Plant Manager position there.
Prior to joining HES, Nick spent one year with W.J. O’Neil Mechanical Services as utility services coordinator at Pontiac One Lab Chiller Plant in charge of powerhouse operations; three years with Combustion Safety as senior project manager in charge of auditing all fuel-fired equipment including all related protective safety devices around the world; 30 years with GM with a variety of responsibilities in powerhouse, wastewater treatment, and assembly; and four years in the United States Air Force as a power production specialist maintaining electrical operating equipment.
Sandra joined HES in April this year to direct and implement key safety strategies and programs for the Detroit Renewable Energy family. Sandra holds a certificate in safety management from Eastern Michigan University and is a certified Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) trainer.
